If you are pricing a 3D product animation, you will see quotes from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands. Both ends can be honest. The spread comes from three things: whether a model of your product already exists, how long the film is, and how much the camera and lighting have to do.
This guide gives you the market ranges, our published prices for each format, and the one decision that cuts the cost of every video after the first.
The short answer
Most product brands pay between $700 and $5,000 for a 3D product animation of 10 to 60 seconds from a specialist studio. A simple 360 turntable sits at the bottom of that range. A choreographed launch film with close-ups, sound and several cutdowns sits at the top.
Published industry guides price 3D animation per finished minute. One 2026 guide puts budget work at about $2,000 to $5,000 per minute, professional studio work at about $7,000 to $15,000, and premium cinematic work from $20,000 per minute (Hatch Studios, 2026). Product films are short, so you rarely pay a full minute rate, but the setup cost does not shrink with the length.
What you pay for in a product animation
- The model. Building an accurate 3D model of your product is the biggest single cost. From CAD it is quick. From photos or a sample it takes longer. Once it exists, every later film reuses it.
- Length. The first seconds are the most expensive, because modeling, materials and lighting happen before frame one. Adding seconds after that costs comparatively little.
- Camera and lighting. A locked camera on a turntable is simple. A moving camera with macro close-ups and lighting changes is a production.
- Internals. If the film shows the inside (an exploded view or x-ray pass), every hidden component has to be modeled, not just the shell.
- Cutdowns and formats. A 16:9 master plus 9:16 and 1:1 versions for Reels, TikTok and Amazon adds edit time, not modeling time.
- Sound. Music licensing, sound design and voiceover are often extras.
Our prices by format
These are fixed prices, published on our pricing page. The first animation of a product includes a one-time model build. Every animation after that, of the same product, costs less.
- 360 turntable, 10 to 15 seconds: $690 for the first, $400 for each one after. The standard for an Amazon video slot.
- Feature callout, 20 to 30 seconds: $1,590 first, $1,300 after. Animated labels pointing at up to six features.
- Exploded view, 20 to 30 seconds: $1,790 first, $1,400 after. Every internal component modeled and separated in sequence.
- Cinematic hero film, 30 to 60 seconds: $2,900 first, $2,610 after. Custom scene, choreographed camera and material close-ups.
- Technical film, 45 to 90 seconds: $4,700. Storyboard, cutaways and section views for a full explanation of how the product works.
Bundle three or more animations and the set is 15% off. Every film is delivered as MP4, sized for Amazon, Shopify, Meta and TikTok.
Why the second animation is cheaper
The model is the expensive part. Once we have built your product in 3D for a render set or a first film, the next animation starts from a finished, lit, accurate model. That is why our second animation of the same product is around a third cheaper, and why brands who start with 3D product rendering pay the lower animation price from day one.
If you are planning a launch, buy in this order: renders first, then a turntable for the listing, then a feature or exploded film for ads and the product page. Each step reuses the last.
Freelancer, marketplace or studio
Marketplace offers for "3D product animation" start very low. They can be fine for a simple shape where accuracy does not matter. The risk shows up on products with logos, ports, buttons, labels or moving parts: the model is approximated, so the film looks generic or simply wrong.
A specialist studio costs more because it builds the model to your real dimensions, checks every frame against your product, and keeps the model for the next job. Ask any provider three questions before you pay: who builds the model, what they need from you, and what the second video costs.
How to get an accurate quote fast
Send:
- CAD (STEP or native) if you have it, otherwise clear photos from several angles plus two or three measurements
- The length and formats you need (16:9, 9:16, 1:1)
- Where it will run: Amazon, your product page, paid social, a trade show screen
- Two or three reference videos you like
- Your deadline
With that, we return a fixed price and delivery date within one working day. See product animation for examples of each format, or how-it-works animation if you need to show a mechanism.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 30-second 3D product animation cost?
From a specialist studio, usually $1,500 to $3,000 if the product has to be modeled first. With us, a 20 to 30 second feature callout is $1,590 and an exploded view is $1,790 for the first film of a product.
How long does a 3D product animation take?
A turntable takes about 4 working days. Feature callouts and exploded views take 5 to 7 days. A cinematic film takes about 7 days after the storyboard is approved, and a full technical film 3 to 4 weeks.
Do I need CAD files?
No. CAD makes the model faster and more exact, but we also build from photos, a physical sample or a spec sheet. The model build is a fixed line in your quote either way.
Who owns the finished animation?
You do. Full commercial rights to the delivered files transfer on final payment, so you can run them as ads, on marketplaces and on your own site.
