AI product photography promises lifestyle images at a fraction of the cost of a shoot. For some uses it delivers. For others it creates images you cannot use. Here is what each option costs per image in 2026, and where each one belongs.
Traditional product photography: the benchmark
Published 2026 rate guides put a plain white-background packshot at roughly $25 to $50 per image, Amazon-compliant white-background work at about $30 to $100, and styled lifestyle images with props or a model at $150 to $500 or more per image. Half-day and full-day rates commonly run $500 to $5,000, with studio rental extra (Photta, 2026).
Add sample shipping, a reshoot when a colour changes, and the fact that a photo cannot exist before the product does.
AI product photography tools
AI tools generate a scene around a photo of your product. Subscriptions are inexpensive and the per-image cost can drop to cents. The trade-off is control: the tool repaints parts of your product, so labels, logos, textures and proportions can change. For a feed post, that may not matter. For a listing image a buyer compares against the box they receive, it does.
AI images with hand correction
A studio uses AI for the scene and a 3D artist to correct the product. Our price is $149 for 10 images with two scene themes, or 40 images for $390, delivered in 2 to 5 days, with labels and logos fixed by hand. For brands that want their own team generating consistent images, an AI product twin (a reference set that teaches AI tools what your product looks like) is $590. See AI product images.
3D product rendering
The product is modeled to its real dimensions and rendered. Every detail is exact, every angle and colourway is available, and the model stays on file. Our packages start at $490 for four renders on white, and once a product is modeled an extra angle is $95, an extra colourway $70 and an extra lifestyle scene $175. See 3D product rendering.
Which to use where
- Amazon main image and listing gallery: 3D renders or real photography. Accuracy is a marketplace rule, not a preference.
- A+ content and brand store: 3D renders, with AI scenes for backgrounds where the product stays exact.
- Paid social and testing: AI images with hand correction. Volume and speed win.
- Seasonal refresh: AI scenes around an existing render or photo.
- Products not manufactured yet: 3D rendering is the only option that shows the real product.

The real cost per usable image
The cheapest image is not the one with the lowest price; it is the one you can actually publish. When you compare quotes, count:
- How many images you will reject because the product is wrong
- Whether you can get the same product in the same light next month
- Whether new colours and angles cost a reshoot or a few dollars
Frequently asked questions
How much does AI product photography cost?
Tools cost a monthly subscription and can produce images for cents, but with no guarantee the product is right. With hand correction, ours is $149 for 10 images or $390 for 40.
Are AI product photos cheaper than a photoshoot?
Per image, usually yes. Per usable image, it depends on how many the product details ruin. For listing images, 3D renders are often the better value because every image is accurate.
Can AI images be used on Amazon?
Amazon requires images to represent the product accurately. Check our guide on AI-generated images and Amazon for the current rules, including the tagging of AI-generated people.
What is an AI product twin?
A reference set of your product, built from a 3D model or approved photos, that helps AI tools reproduce it consistently. Ours costs $590.
